Firestopping is the containment of fire or smoke through rated assemblies by the application of tested fire rated assemblies. The process of firestopping will contain and control fire, smoke and gases by sealing openings within walls and floors, confining any damage to that room or area of building.
Mid-Illinois Companies has long provided the necessary firestopping at the top of rated metal framed gypsum board walls. Now, in conjunction with Specified Technologies, Inc., Mid-Illinois Companies is developing a program to provide a complete firestopping package.
