Mid-Illinois Companies is a family owned Construction and Maintenance Service Company located in Peoria, Illinois. Over the past 35 years, Mid-Illinois Companies (MIC) has performed work on public and private sector projects throughout Central Illinois.
1970’s
The predecessor of Mid-Illinois Companies, Mid-Illinois Painting & Drywall Co., was founded by Dan Higdon in December 1970. The Company’s first decade of business was in the single family housing market, moving into the commercial housing market by the middle of the 1970’s. In 1979 the operation expanded and moved to its current location at 905 NE Adams Street, Peoria, IL.
1980’s
During the early and mid 1980’s the country went into recession. In Peoria, the recession lagged behind the Nation’s recovery. During this time frame, Mid-Illinois Painting & Drywall Co. diversified its services and began pursuing the commercial building market. The company changed its name to Mid-Illinois Companies in 1989 to reflect the diversification of services.
1990’s
The company continued to gain strength and experience in new and remodel commercial projects. We continued to build our reputation of providing dependable and quality service. In 1996 the reins passed from Dan Higdon to his son, Dennis Higdon and daughter Debra Young.
2000 – Present – Future
Mid-Illinois Companies continues to provide quality service in the many phases of new Construction and Remodel.
